The third annual The Art of The Machine is organized in conjunction with MAKE Santa Fe and the Arts + Creativity Center This year you’re invited to:

Participate in Power Tool Racing: You’ll hear the whine of 110 volt corded appliances fused to franken-chassis get-ups as they tear down a 12″ wide track in an all out race for powertool supremacy.  Anyone is free to build a powertool racer to compete. Contact MAKE Santa Fe for rules and registration details.

Explore MAKE Santa Fe as they demonstrate the latest in digital fabrication and advanced manufacturing tools. See 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers and computer controlled plasma cutters in action! Watch a drawing machine churn out accurate artistry! Stare deep in the future as you match wits with a robot arm!

Be amazed and amused by JAK Studios blacksmiths, sculptors and chainsaw artists.

Watch Samora Woodworking demonstrate how to etch patterns in solid wood using electrical current.

Explore and interact with immersive installations inside of cars, curated by Graft Gallery (ABQ).

Get a quick demo ride on a OneWheel auto-balancing electric skateboard.

Check out the MIX mobile storefront on display before it hits the streets with a lineup of new Santa Fe businesses and products.

And head over to Ghost for the Sound of The Machine afterparty featuring Mirror Fears, Church Fire, Bitter Birds, Chicharra and Psirens – 8 pm to midnight!

With food from Backroad Pizza and Kebab Caravan, ice cream from Freezie Fresh, beer from Second Street Brewery, cocktails from Jean Cocteau, and vintage vinyl from DJ Prairiedog, who’ll play the best in surf, garage and rockabilly. Come join us!
